The history of the federation of international automobile (FIA)

The establishment of automobile club started from England.The royal automobile club of England was established in 1897 and following those countrie ; U.S.A(1902),Hungary(1900),New Zealand(1903)established clubs too.

Through activities and services development of Automobile clubs among countries and the increase of car production,the idea of collaboration between third countries and the countries which have such clubs formed and following this idea,the federation of international automobile was established in 1904.

This federation began work in order to preserve the interests of automobile clubs(FIA).

Private organizations from 120 countries throughout the world.

Alliance of international travelling  (AIT)



By expanding the clubs of automobile and travelling ,the idea of creating an international association and a general policy which most of association should follow it,formed.

After creating this association,several congresses for the purpose of forming international laws were held in Feburary 1897.

The first one was held in Netherlands and then on 27th July in same year,the second one was held in Brussels with the main goal of creating “International Association of Travelling Industry”.

In the first month of 1898,another congress with 17 clubs and organizations’attendance was held formally in Luxembourg for the purpose of creating international association of traveling among cycling clubs,but by beginning the first world war and after some clubs’ resignation,this congress was disbanded.

In 1919 this congress under the title of Travelling was held in Paris again and led to the expansion of local economic potential and international friendly relations.

After war the construction development led to Travelling industry development and close collaboration among international agencies and organizations and made land,air transportation easy.

In addition, the law of 5dayswork in a week persued people to trip.

This organization (AIT) after 115 years experiences as an active organization has persisted on easy trip yet.

Automobile and Touring club of Islamic Republic of Iran was established in 1314(1935)with the expansion of population and people interest in traveling throughout the world and led to the expansion of road construction between some countries and in order to supply foreign tourists with facilities.a federation of international automobile (FIA)was established in Iran and alliance of international traveling automobile and touring club of Islamic Republic of Iran with government and parliament agreement was registered as fourth formal organization of the country in 1317 and it has been working by the motto of “safe and easy travel” up to now.
